Privacy Policy — Glance Notes

Glance Notes ("App") is operated by SKAISTART, OOO ("we", "us"). The App lets you keep short notes visible on the Lock Screen (widgets) and, with Pro, on Live Activity / Dynamic Island. There is no Glance Notes account — you use your Apple ID for purchases and optional iCloud sync.
Audience: The App is intended for adults (18+).
1. Information We Process
- Note content: Text, checklists, habits, reminders, and optional reminder photos. Stored on-device with SwiftData. If you enable sync, data is stored in your Apple ID iCloud / CloudKit Private Database.
- Widget snapshots: A local App Group copy for Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets. Widget-only notes are not sent to our servers.
- Voice input (optional): On-device Apple Speech. We do not send voice audio to our servers.
- Purchases: Processed by the Apple App Store. We receive Pro entitlement status through RevenueCat. We do not receive payment card details or note content.
- Diagnostics: Optional crash data if you share analytics with Apple.
- Always On Live Activity (Pro): See section 6.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs in v1.0.
2. How We Use Information
- Display and sync your notes across your devices (when iCloud is enabled)
- Render Lock Screen / Home Screen widgets and Pro Live Activity surfaces
- Deliver local reminder notifications (including optional photo attachments for Pro)
- Verify Pro entitlements and restore purchases
- While Always On is on: register Live Activity push tokens and the last banner snapshot so Live Activity can be started again in the background
3. Where Data Is Stored
- On your device: Primary storage (SwiftData) and widget snapshots (App Group).
- iCloud (optional): When sync is on, note data lives in your private CloudKit container. We do not operate a Glance Notes user account database.
- RevenueCat / Apple: Purchase and subscription metadata only — not note content.
- Firebase / Google Cloud (Always On only): Device identifier, APNs tokens, and the last Live Activity display snapshot for notes currently on Live with Always On enabled.
4. Third-Party Services
- Apple: App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, CloudKit, WidgetKit, ActivityKit, on-device Speech, Apple Push Notification service
- RevenueCat: Subscription management and entitlement sync
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud: Cloud Functions and Firestore used only for the Always On Live Activity relay
5. Live Activities (Pro)
When a note is on Live, ActivityKit shows a temporary banner on the Lock Screen and, on supported iPhones, content in the Dynamic Island. SwiftData remains the source of truth. Apple may end a Live Activity instance; Lock Screen widgets remain the durable path.
If Always On is off, Live Activity is an on-device display surface and we do not send that note’s text to our servers.
6. Always On (Pro)
Always On is on by default for Pro. You can turn it off in the Pro guide after purchase or later in Settings → Live Activity. Free Live is not registered for Always On.
While Always On is on and a note is on Live, the App registers with our Firebase relay so Live Activity can be started again in the background. Registration includes:

Widget-only notes are not sent. Turning Always On off stops new uploads and unregisters this device’s Live Activity tokens.
7. Your Choices
- Turn Always On off in Settings → Live Activity (Pro).
- Disable iCloud sync in Settings — the App works fully offline.
- Delete notes in the App at any time.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Delete local data by removing the App (and optionally removing Glance Notes data from iCloud in iOS Settings).
- Deny microphone, photo, or notification permissions in iOS Settings if you do not use those features.
